The Stone Soup community is concentrated around 3 to 4-day Experience Design Conferences that serve as a participatory platform for skill-sharing, ad-hoc co-design and experimentation of new ideas. It’s usually frequented by professionals and non-professionals from the fields of Experience Design, Storytelling, Facilitation, Service Design, Consultancy, Business, Art, Theatre but also Molecular Science, Computer Science and Quantum Physics. The non-profit is completely founded on decentralized and co-creational principles.
After being invited to participate in its first year I’ve heavily contributed to the initiation and organization of most of the conferences and the continuing development of the overarching organization. At the events, I have designed and directed a big variety of interactive games, experiences, workshops and shows.
As an initiative initially founded on decentralized and open-source principles anybody can now start their own campfire. Since the first event we’ve now had camps in the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and France – and many more are in the works. If you’d like to know more about either attending or initiating your own experience design camp or use some of its principles for your own event, check out the website or feel free to contact me for a call.
